Blinding, Searing Pain
Today was dominated by a searing toothache. White lightning, hellfire, elastic band swelling. Just brutal.
Ibuprofen briefly softens the worst of the pain, but when the pain peaks, it peaks in vengeance.
I'm usually unaffected by the gastrointestinal side effects of ibuprofen, and I don't take it often, so it's typically effective when I do, but I think I overdid it a bit today because my belly is not happy.
We headed over to my parents' house to help them unload their groceries. Despite the pain, I took a short walk with my son to the small lake near my parents' house since we had arrived a little early. I suppose I thought it would be a nice distraction. We sat by the water and enjoyed the weather for a bit before my stepmother started to get impatient and demanded that we come put her food away before it got too warm in her trunk.
Excuse me, ma'am, but we were early, and we're doing you a favor, so plug it. Yes, clearly intense pain can make me a little grumpy.
